At Heartland Petroleum, oil is picked up and a sample is taken to have analytical testing to be done to test for Halogen levels, PCB content, Water content. Oil is then filtered off through a series of 600, 400, and 200 micron filter bags to remove the solids and the impurities.

The product is then sent to a day tank where water is removed thermally. The product is filtered through a 100 micron rolling paper filter to a main storage tank. Once the main tank has reached maximum capacity, a sample is pulled and resent for analysis. Once lab results are received product is shipped out to industrial vendors as industrial fuel.
